I read this article yesterday and was absolutely amazed. What a fantastic story. To bad they didn't mention what "loophole" was used to get into the WRC or what class he actually ran in.

Eric and I have already talked about taking the "Metroneige" and doing something similar. Unfortunately one of the rules for the Canadian Rally circuit is that your car has to be street legal. This is not a requirement of the 24 Hours of LeMons so that basically counts us out. Might be worth building another junker just for this purpose though

Good to see an old tired saloon, a bmw compete in those events. He deserves it. He really knew his car.

I like how he talked about the tool kit that came with the car. BMWs have all sorts of little helpful things on them like the tow clips in front.

the co-drivers story covered it. Basically, it was because WRC Mexico was also a Rally America event and hence they offered the same classes as Rally America.
